Rigging and Animating PSDs with Duik and Joysticks

Rig and animate image based characters using After Effects powered with Duik and Joysticks n' Sliders!

Learn how to set up PSDs properly

In this course we will go through two rigging methods: layer and puppet pin based. You will learn how to set these characters up for each task.

Create Flexible Rigs For Any Situation

With the ability to auto rig and create custom bones, Duik's powerful toolset allows for quick, simple rigging with incredible depth. Learn how to auto assemble skeletons and create custom bones.

Create Joysticks that Control Limbs and Body Movements

Joysticks are graphical controllers that can be rigged to control certain aspects of the rig. This can make animation quicker and more accessible.

Use Sliders and Joysticks for Facial Animations

Learn how to animate eyebrows, pupils and eye lids. In addition, Swap Templates allow for head turns, mouth poses for lip syncing and more!

Learn how to animate the rig and create reusable actions!

Once we assemble our rig, we will create a short test animation and learn how we can save actions for later use. This means you can build an action library where animations can be reused and modified.

Exercise Files Included for Every Step!

Every step has it's own project file so you can view the process each step of the way. Follow along with these files or build our own. The choice is yours!
